Vision and Values

Vision

To promote the creation of affordable unconference events with themes around photography where the delegates are also deliver the sessions – in an open and sharing environment

The Photocamp conference format is based on the Barcamp and follows it’s core principles.

Ethos

  • The events should be open to all – though everyone should be aware that photography encompasses adult themes and that some of the sessions may discuss or display imagery beyond cute dogs and rolling landscapes!
  • Prices should be kept to a minimum – cost of attending should not be a barrier to attendance.
  • Delegates should be given every opportunity to present – conferences should not be over engineered and everyone should be given the opportunity and impetus to deliver sessions.
  • Sharing and practical – All sessions should incorporate an opprtunity to share and discuss among those attending; where possible a chance for a practical response.
  • Sustainability is an aim – look at ways of ensuring you can run the conferences regularly – once or twice a year. Is there a network locally to draw on?
